30 Weeks Pregnant Update

30 weeks pregnancy update

I am a few weeks into the third trimester and I only have a few more pregnant updates to write.  It’s crazy to think that the baby will be here so soon.  We’ve got a lot stuff going on in the next two months that will make the time fly.  We’re going to Disneyland for Thanksgiving which I can’t wait to share that trip with you.  After that there will be so much to do for the holidays.  Theo is at such a fun age now where holiday events are magical to him.  I’m going to drag Jordan to every holiday related thing there is here in Phoenix, he will love it haha.  After Christmas it’ll be the home stretch until we meet our newest family member.

Due date: January 26th-ish

Weight gain: 27 pounds

Sleep: Sleep hasn’t been too bad yet, although I’m sure it will get worse soon.  I’m trying to enjoy my good sleep while I still can.  I’ve been more tired lately though so I have been going to bed early and then waking up early.  I’m actually typing this at 4am. I might end up taking a nap with Theo this afternoon because I’m not sure I’ll last until tonight.

Mood: My patience is slowly but surely disappearing.  I try so hard to be relaxed and chill because it makes life so much more enjoyable.  But I can’t lie guys, towards the evening I start feeling SO short on patience.  Theo’s at the age of having big feelings which means mini meltdowns over things like me cutting his apple wrong.  That’s fine and everything, I get it, it’s hard being two.  He’s also not bad at all and gets over things really quickly.  But  I definitely find myself feeling edgier over things that a month ago I would have just laughed off.  I’m also probably grumpier to Jord, sorry my love!  He always gets the worst of my moods  and is always so nice to me.

I’ve noticed that taking a little bit of time to myself does wonders for me.  Theo has been having some good naps lately which means a nice mid afternoon break for me.  When he wakes up I’m ready to hang out and do all of the mom things again.  It’s also been nice that he started preschool one day a week.  It’s perfect timing because it’s the middle of the week, Wednesday.  It gives me a chance to relax and refresh until the weekend.  I also try and just step out of the room and take a few deep breaths alone to calm down when I’m feeling frustrated.  It really is all just little stuff that I get irritated over and it isn’t worth getting upset over, so this usually helps.

Baby Bump:  It’s getting big!  I’m definitely to the point where I start my day feeling good but by the end of it, if something’s on the ground I’m not bending over to pick it up.  I also feel pretty uncomfortable in the evenings.  It’s not painful, I just feel like the baby starts stretching and moving a ton and there’s not enough space for him.

I’ve also had my first random stranger comment on the bump.  I was at a medical conference a few weeks ago and walked past this older man and he said “good luck with your delivery”.  Strangest comment ever but ok, thanks man.

Symptoms:  Like I mentioned my stomach is also feeling really stretched and I’m feeling like there’s little feet in my ribs all the time.  That can make it difficult to catch my breath sometimes.  I also get out of breath easier running up and down my stairs and when I’m moving around the house cleaning.  Still no swelling and I’m seriously crossing my fingers so hard that it doesn’t happen haha it was so uncomfortable last time!

I’ve had a little bit of reflux in the evenings, and I have no appetite past 2p.  I think it’s just because I’m running out of space in there.  I’m back to my first trimester days where the only thing I ever want for dinner is soup haha Jordan hates it!

Baby Update: Baby is doing great and is just growing away.  I’m not sure how big he’s measuring because we haven’t had an ultrasound since 18 weeks, but he feels like he is using up all of his room haha.  He still moves a ton, way more than I remember Theo moving.  He is still unnamed… why is this so difficult?  Seriously, we are struggling haha.  I had a name that I really liked and Jordan contemplated it for a few weeks… and then told me no.  So back to the drawing board we go.  At this point I think we should just name him Theo Jr, clearly it’s the only name we agree on.
