Lifestyle Parenting Pregnancy

18 Week Update

August 24, 2018

Due Date: January 26th, 2019

Weight Gain: Up 10lbs.  I’m now 123.

Food Cravings/Aversions:  The soup cravings are still going strong.  Other than that no real cravings or aversions.  I just tend to be picky with my food in the sense that if I want something… I really really want it.  But honestly I was like that pre-pregnancy too so it’s not really anything new.

Sleep: Much better.  I’ve been sleeping great lately and don’t wake up until around 6a.  I also haven’t been waking up as often to pee in the night which has been amazing!

Mood:  There have been ups and downs with this one.  This past week my mood has been pretty good though, but it’s something that has been a struggle for me so far this pregnancy.

Baby Bump:  I actually thought I would be showing more than I am because everyone always says how you show sooner with your second pregnancy. I do think I have popped now though and if you just met me you would probably be able to assume that I’ve got a baby bump going on and and not just a food baby.  Side note, week 16 I had a woman kindly point out that I was REALLY showing for only 16 weeks (insert eye roll here).

Movement: I’ve felt a few little flutters here and there, but nothing consistent yet.

Other Symptoms:

I’ve been feeling pretty good lately.  By week 14 my morning sickness was pretty much gone, but then the hormonal headaches started.  Those were brutal…. absolutely brutal.  I probably had a headache 75% of the time during weeks 14 and 15.  Thankfully I haven’t had one since and fingers crossed that I don’t get any more.

My skin has been looking pretty dismal so far this pregnancy.  I never really dealt with acne even back in high school, so this is definitely new for me.  Now to be fair, my skin is not really all that bad.  But, like I said, poor skin isn’t something I’ve really dealt with before so it’s a new and not fun symptom for me.

I’ve been experiencing some stretching pains this week. It might be round ligament pain, but it can be pretty uncomfortable!

Boy or Girl: We find out next week!!  I’m so excited but seriously have no idea on what this baby is.  I’ve always just felt like I’m supposed to be a boy mom so part of me thinks it’s another boy.  But then this pregnancy has been so incredibly different than my pregnancy with Theo, so that makes me think maybe a girl.
