Trader Joe’s Fall Finds

September 30, 2020

I love the seasonal items that Trader Joe’s offers, but I think the fall selection is my favorite. Give me all of the pumpkin and squash and maple flavors please and thank you. What seasonal items are your favorites? I’ve listed the Trader Joe’s fall finds that I’ve tried below, with my review on each.

Maple and Sea Salt Kettle Corn

If you like kettle corn, you’ll definitely like this.  A bag of this goes quickly in my house, so beware, it’s dangerously addicting.

This pumpkin walks into a bar… cereal bars

If you want the goodness of a slice of pumpkin pie without the effort of baking one, these cereal bars are for you.  They are decedent and give you the semblance of eating a healthy breakfast. These are a huge hit with my kids, and definitely top their list of favorite fall finds.

Pumpkin Ginger Hold the Cone

The mini hold the cones can be found in my freezer all year long.  They’re the perfect size for little ones and my kids love them as an easy dessert.  I look forward to stocking my freezer with this seasonal flavor.  The ginger flavor is not at all overwhelming and the pumpkin is a fun switch from the usual chocolate cones that we get.

Pumpkin Waffles

Trader Joe’s always has the best frozen waffles, and these don’t disappoint.  The perfect amount of pumpkin flavor and they are delicious topped with a drizzle of the Vermont maple syrup or a scoop of greek yogurt.

Petite Pumpkin Spice Cookies

I love the original flavor of these cookies, but the pumpkin spice is a bit too rich for me.  The spices are just overwhelming in my opinion, and I’d rather stick to the original box.

Autumnal Harvest Pasta Sauce

This is one of those products that I wish they sold year round.  It’s got all of the autumn flavors in it and is so versatile and flavorful without being overly rich.  So far I have used it as an easy pasta sauce and in lasagna but I bought a few more jars and plan on trying it out in stuffed bell peppers as well. This might be my absolute favorite of all of the Trader Joe’s fall finds this year.

Fall Zucchette Pasta

The shape of this pasta is so cute and festive, but once cooked it wasn’t necessarily our family’s favorite.  I ended up cooking it for a few minutes longer than the directions said, and then I turned the heat off but left it on the stove in the hot water for a few more minutes. This helped the pasta cook through without overcooking the outside. It’s a little more effort than I prefer when cooking noodles, but the kids did love the fun shape.

Harvest Grains Blend

This is a combination of orzo, israeli couscous, baby garbanzo beans and red quinoa.  I follow the directions on the back but also add in some vegetable bouillon for added flavor and it’s one of my favorite sides. I grabbed a few of these because I don’t want to run out. I’ve made it as a side dish, used it as a stuffing for acorn squash, and added it to casserole. It really is very versatile.

Pumpkin Bread and Muffin Mix

I often find myself brainstorming ways to spruce up bread mixes like this. That being said, this one is just perfect as is. I followed the directions exactly and it came out with the perfect texture and density. Let’s be real though, you can never go wrong with adding some chocolate chips so I think I’ll try that next time.

Protein Maple Muffin

I wouldn’t even suggest this product to my worst enemy.  I followed the directions of adding water and microwaving but this tasted nothing like a muffin.  It was chalky and tasted almost pasty, it wasn’t good. I’ve actually tried it multiple times and varied the cook time and amount of water added with no improvement.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookie Mix

If you’re looking for an easy yummy cookie mix then I’d definitely recommend trying this.  All you need is butter, eggs and water and they bake quickly.  Not gonna lie though, my pumpkin chocolate chip cookie recipe still wins by a landslide.

Gluten Free Pumpkin Spice Granola Bark

This is a really yummy snack. It’s the perfect balance of pumpkin spice bark and chocolate without either layer overwhelming the other. It’s pretty high in sugar and calories, but each piece is really rich and satisfying so it’s not the type of item that you would easily overindulge in.

Apple Fruit Snacks- Mango Jalapeno

I’m not sure what tempted me to even pick these up because I’m not a jalapeño fan, but I like these. The jalapeño flavor is subtle and doesn’t make my wimp self feel like my tongue is going to. burn off. They taste like an adult fruit snack, if that’s even a thing.

Pumpkin Bisque

I’m such a soup lover and I did enjoy this, but only in small quantities. It is a bit rich and I wouldn’t want to eat it as a main dish.  Top it with some pumpkin seeds or with some crusty cornbread croutons.  You can also use it as a pasta sauce which I think would be really good.

Butternut Squash Mac and Cheese

The freezer section at TJ’s never lets me down.  This boxed mac n cheese tastes delicious.  I stock up and on busy evenings just serve this with a little bit of pancetta and frozen peas added in.  The box contains 2 servings so you may need more than one box, depending on the size of your family.

Fall Harvest Salsa

I’m not a huge salsa lover but Jordan loves this with the fall leaf corn tortilla chips. I’ve paired it with butternut squash and black bean tacos and it brings fall vibes and taco Tuesday together perfectly.

Fall Leaf Corn Tortilla Chips

The color and shape of these chips is perfect for fall. Crispy and delicious and the shape makes them great for scooping. They check all of the necessary boxes for a good chip.

Maple Oat Beverage

This maple oat beverage is so yummy. It’s got the same creaminess as the traditional oat milk Trader Joe’s sells, but with an added sweetness. We use this in cereal and I’ve also tried it in homemade pumpkin cream cold brews and it’s perfect.

I’ll continue updating this post as I try more Trader Joe’s fall finds. If you’ve got your eye on something and want a review let me know and I’ll be sure to pick it up on my next trip.
