We’re moving this week and I can’t believe the time is finally here. We’ve been talking about making this move for a while, but it is going to be a big change for us. We’re comfortable where we are currently at. The house we’ve been renting is really nice, it’s close to our families, and it’s in the area of town that we both primarily grew up in. Our new house is in an area that neither of us have ever lived in. It’s farther from our families and it’s going to be a longer commute for Jordan to get to work.
I’m nervous about living in a new area, and the house we are moving into is also quite a bit older and smaller than what we are used to. Hopefully once we are all moved in and all of our furniture is put together the house will feel nice and cozy, like our current one does. I’m also feeling a bit nostalgic because the house we are moving out of is the house that we brought Theo home to. There’s something a bit sad about saying goodbye to our son’s first home and his first room. We’ve had so many good memories in this home and it’s strange to think that we won’t be making any more here.
The new house has a great backyard with lots of grass for Theo and Matix to play in. It’s within walking distance to a bunch of fun restaurants so we can take Matix with us when we go out to eat on the weekends. Another plus, it’s extremely close to my work, so I won’t have to spend as much time commuting. I’m really excited about the area and I think we are going to love the new house overall. However, we did decide to rent again so that we can make sure we really like the area before we buy a home there.
