Three Festive Banana Nice Cream Flavors

December 13, 2017

I’m sure you’ve all seen the trending banana nice cream by now.  If you haven’t, I suspect you may be living in a box (no worries, I’m here to help you break free of said box). Banana nice cream is practically the most basic and easy-to-make dessert that has ever existed.  All you really need are a few frozen bananas and a food processor. You can get fancy and jazz up your ice cream with some fun flavors like I do in this post.  That being said, sometimes if I’m feeling lazy I add absolutely nothing extra. The ice cream still tastes delicious.  This is such a simple way to get your ice cream fix without indulging in all of the processed ingredients found in store bought ice cream. Bananas contain their fair share of sugar, but they are also rich in B vitamins, magnesium, and potassium.   All of these are nutrients are necessary for us to survive and thrive. This version of ice cream is also the perfect alternative for people with allergies to dairy or soy, which are found in most ice creams.

You want to make sure the bananas you use to make this ice cream are starting to turn brown before you freeze them. If the peels are still green or bright yellow, leave them on the counter for a few more days. Once they are ripe and are starting to brown, peel them, cut into pieces, and freeze.

Once your bananas are frozen, throw them in the food processor.  Blend them until the result is a soft serve consistency. Depending on how powerful your food processor is, this may take a few minutes to achieve. You can add a ¼ cup of the milk of your choice to help achieve the desired consistency.
