Cold and flu season is coming up quickly and one of my favorite ways to boost my immune system is with this cold buster juice.  When we were in England we did a lot of traveling on public transportation, which can be so germy.  Flights are especially notorious for getting people sick because you are confined to such a small area.  Let’s be real, if you think you have a cold are you going to miss your flight so that you don’t expose strangers to that cold?  Chances are the answer to that question is no.  Flights are expensive to reschedule and everyone wants to hurry up and get to their final destination.  When we got home from England I felt like I was starting to get a cold and that’s the last thing I wanted to deal with.

This cold-buster juice is loaded with Vitamins C and A to help strengthen your immune system and fight off infection faster. Also, the ginger and turmeric are powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory herbs.  When juiced fresh these herbs provide your body with the support that it needs to fight off free radicals and prevent damage to your immune system.  I love drinking this juice when I feel a cold coming on and within two days of being home I was back to feeling 100%.

Cold Buster Juice

Servings: 1

2 navel oranges, peeled

2 carrots, peeled

1/2 lemon, peeled

Fresh ginger, thumbnail sized, peeled

Fresh turmeric, thumbnail sized, peeled

Juice ingredients and enjoy. If you don’t have a juicer you can throw them all into a blender and you will just end up with more of a smoothie.
